As noted at the press conference, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-4273 dated April 9, 2019 "On additional measures to ensure openness and transparency of public administration, as well as increasing the statistical potential of the country", the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on statistics is entrusted with the coordination of the activities of state bodies and organizations for the formation, maintenance and updating of the list of open data sets and the timely reflection of relevant information on the Open Data Portal of the Republic of Uzbekistan (data.gov.uz).
The level of openness and quality of open data, the existing mechanisms for their delivery to citizens and the world community, as well as ensuring openness and transparency of public administration serve to strengthen the image and investment attractiveness of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the world.
In 2019-2020, with the support of the relevant ministries and departments, the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, the World Bank and the United Nations Development Program, Goskomstat carried out work to develop the open data sector in Uzbekistan and achieve high positions of the country in international rankings.
In particular, with the participation of leading international experts in the field of open data, events were held such as the international conference on open data "Open Data Tashkent 2019", the week of open data "Open Data Week Uzbekistan 2019", the seminar "Open Data Day Tashkent 2020", online event "Open Data Uzbekistan Workshop Agenda", webinar "Solutions based on open data during the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world and Uzbekistan."
✓ At present, the Open Data Portal of the Republic of Uzbekistan contains almost 11 thousand datasets in 3 languages (Uzbek, Russian and English).
✓ According to the Open Data Inspection organization, with 70 open data sources, Uzbekistan ranked 6th in the world.
✓ The official website of Goskomstat on the evaluation system of the Open Data Institute (ODI) in London received the highest - "Platinum" (PLATINUM) level.
✓ According to the UN E-Government Survey 2020, Uzbekistan is among the 41 countries in the world with the highest indicator (Very High OGDI) according to open data in the Open Government Data Index. A total of 193 countries were assessed in this ranking, and Uzbekistan received the highest score.
✓ In the Open Data Inventory (ODIN) rating, the Republic of Uzbekistan scored 63 points and climbed 125 positions in the rating, taking 44th place in the world and 1st place in Central Asia.
✓ The Republic of Uzbekistan has become the 23rd country in the world and the third country in Asia after South Korea and the Philippines to join the International Open Data Charter.
Until August 1, 2021, it is planned to develop and launch a new version of the open data portal of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It was noted at the press conference that as a result of these reforms, the image and potential of our country in the international arena will be reflected in prestigious ratings and, as a result, will serve as a reliable source for international investors.
